how to install packages not in alpine repo like steam and chrome and telegram

second questions that i need how to update my roteur firmware to alpine because i want to transform my roteur os to alpine

Steam won't work natively in Alpine because it requires GNU's libc version, the same may be true for other programs.

I use this method to run glibc programs from am Arch Linux chroot but it won't work for graphically-intensive stuff.

Not sure about your router question though, I use Alpine as a desktop OS :)

Maybi you can try with: flatpak (https://www.flatpak.org/)
A package is avalable (test) https://pkgs.alpinelinux.org/packages?name=flatpak&branch=edge

They have steam at flathub.org:
https://flathub.org/repo/appstream/com.valvesoftware.Steam.flatpakref

I havent tried it my self.

You might give try to appimage, it's also like flathub

I saw : steam-rom-manager and ReliefValve which might what you want.
