Hi

I installed pm-utils and suspending the machine using pm-suspend works fine. However it needs root privileges, but I want to suspend being a normal user, from a menu entry in my favorite window manager. How can I achieve that?

On a related thing: I was wondering why hibernating wouldn't work. pm-is-supported seems to indicate that indeed it is not (it returns 1, while asking for suspend it returns 0). What could be the reason for that? I made sure swapping is activated with enough space for the RAM. Any other conditions?

Cheers Peter

The second question is solved. The reason it cannot hibernate is that the system is a dom0 - Xen does not support hibernation. That's fine, I don't really need it. I guess I should have mentioned Xen in my question, but since the first question was unrelated, I forgot.

Cheers Peter
