Hi, I followed the wiki page on NGINX and the first issue I run into is
adduser -D -u 1000 -g 'www' www
Result:
adduser: uid '1000' in use
So I change it to 2000 instead, then create the dirs and copy config & the tester index.html.
Which results in:

However when I go to the website, it shows up "Server is online"...
So, what's up??
If this gets solved I will attempt to get PHP working again, but that seems pointless right now with the daemon showing up as "crashed"...
Also stopping the service does not actually stop it, it still shows up in top so I have to do killall nginx.

I'm new to alpine (since... eh. today.), but since during the installation an user gets created (pre-install script), I don't think you need another one. Can you provide more information, like logs (from /var/log/nginx/) or so? Hard to figure out what went wrong, without further info.

Edit:
Installed nginx just using apk and it works. The user mentioned in nginx.conf shoud be nginx then and not www.

apk add nginx
rc-service nginx start # or just: service nginx start
rc-status

Did you created your own config file? You always can test your config using nginx -t.
