Procedure around requesting/building updated package versions (ruby, specifically)

Hi,

So, new to this, I am a mere user of alpine linux. I hope this is not the wrong forum/thing to do.

I am wondering how we can request an updated package, specifically, the ruby package uses Ruby 2.2.4, which now gives warnings about being "buggy" when you run it. Ruby 2.2.5, 2.3.0, and 2.3.1 are out. I'd LUV it if we could get an updated package. Or, if there are good docs around how to build and contribute such a thing, I might take a run at it.
