Are armhf and armv7-a architectures compatible?

Greetings.

i would like to install apline on a device using armv7-a architecture (Exynos 5422 cpu)

what I read online seems to suggest that armv7-a is some sort of subset of armhf?

anyways, should the armhf binary work on an armv7-a processor?
