can't find wifi interface on raspberry pi 0w or can't find firmware

I am trying to install alpine on raspberry pi 0w but since there is no Ethernet port, I'd like to connect straight to wireless for the installation process.
However i cannot find the wifi interface, I tried to look for it with dmesg but no success.
I don't know if it's because it has another name than wlan0 or if the firmware is missing. Thanks for your help
