Today I tried installation of Apline 2.7 on my home server.
First I ran setup-alpine (sys installation type) to the point where installer asks to erase the disk. Since I wanted my own partition scheme I answered "No", mounted my root partition on /mnt, and ran setup-disk -v /mnt. Setup-disk never finished. It printed messages about root-device and filesystem, and boot device and filesystem (ext4) and nothing more.
From other terminal I checked /mnt mount point and notices that /etc folder was created and several files and folders in it, but after that command df -h always showed same occupied space (around 10Mb).
I have followed this installation routine successfully many times on virtual machines in Virtual box but on real hardware it failed.

The problem was old version of VirtualBox(4.1.18). I have installed newer version 4.3 and Alpine booted successfully.
