I had followed the owncloud installation tutorial (mysql, https/ssl) on

http://wiki.alpinelinux.org/wiki/OwnCloud

and it worked like a charm, but I have been unable to set the locale and I get the following error from the owncloud webgui

"This ownCloud server can't set system locale to en_US.UTF-8/en_US.UTF8. This means that there might be problems with certain characters in file names. We strongly suggest to install the required packages on your system to support en_US.UTF-8/en_US.UTF8."

Although I've tried many possible solutions, I've been unable to fixit :(

I really like alpine but I need to fix this error or move back to debloat... err... I mean debian

THX in advance

Check out /etc/php/php.ini - I think Owncloud uses PHP, and there's some lines in there related to locale/charset (like 'default_charset = "UTF-8" as an example).

Might simply need a change here to remove the warning.

Even so, this error shouldn't be a show stopper, so long as nobody uses strange characters?
