Hi!
I am trying to boot or install Alpine Linux x86 on VirtualBox 4.1.26 with Linux x86 host.
It gives me following errors right after boot screen:
"Booting kernel failed: Bad file number" with Alpine version 2.6.5
"Booting kernel failed: Invalid argument" with Alpine version 2.7.2 (the same for 64 bit guest version).

I remember that an old Alpine version (I think 2.4) used to work on VirtualBox.

Any ideas how to help me? It works on VMware, but I'd like to use VirtualBox.

Could you please upgrade Virtualbox to version 4.3 and try it again?

I will try with 4.3 version in a week, because I can not upgrade it on my machine.

Hi everyone,

I'm getting the same problem. The error: Booting kernel failed: Invalid Argument
I'm using Xen 6.2 with SP1. I've tried Mini and Standard 64bit and mini 32 bit.
