After getting frustrated with Ubuntu, trying out Sabayon and trashing the entire system with pip install --upgrade pip as root user .... i decided it was time for a change, enough safe choices let's think and have a look.
I decide to try out Alpine Linux again, all i really miss is Steam. There's only a .deb package to be found thus far. Does anyone have knowledge of people running steam on Alpine ?
More generally, is it possible to take a .deb or .rpm package and turn it into an .apk? I've done this on Arch and I use a few AUR packages that are essentially just scripts to re-package an upstream .deb into Arch's package format then install it.
My first thought it is NO unless the binaries are built the same way Alpine does. But I could be totally wrong on this and maybe I just haven't read enough of the wiki yet!
There's a few apps I'm looking for that I haven't seen in Alpine's package list, like Google Chrome or Dropbox, but these are binary packages without any source available (chromium is available as an alternative to Chrome).
