mongo database not working

Hi i would like to build a container with alpine linux base to use as a ubnt unifi controller. unifi controller uses the mongodatabase i have installed the mongodb from the testing repository and linked the mongod from /usr/bin/mongod to the unifi directory but i am always getting database error messages.
has anyone used mongod successfully?
